Updated: Oct 3, 2022

I am happy to share with you the news of this important educational project in which I have been involved as a teacher. If you are interested in deepening your knowledge and practice of the relationship between art and technology, with a focus on contemporary performance art, I invite you to register. The course is open to everyone!

The Polytechnic University of Marche inaugurates a new multidisciplinary specialization course, unique in Italy, which connects technological know-how with the performing arts, deepening the relationship "between art and science, technology and design" explains the rector Gianluca Gregori.

The performing arts are undergoing a profound transformation in the interaction with digital: dance, music, theater, the very relationship between the performer's corporeality, sound and stage space must be rethought in the light of the new opportunities offered by technology.

The course New technologies for performance. Body and public space is part of the educational offer of the Department of Building Engineering and Architecture (Dicea) with Univpm professors (Gianluigi Mondaini, Paolo Clini and Leonardo Gabrielli responsible) and external teachers, including Italian artists who mostly reflect and design in the intersection between performance art and new technologies such as Ariella Vidach and Claudio Prati, Francesca Fini, Lino Strangis, Roberto Paci Dalò, Davide Mancini, Alessandro Petrolati, Pietro Cardarelli.

The synergy with the Cinematica and Acusmatiq festivals is fundamental, with the coordination of the respective artistic directors Simona Lisi and Paolo Bragaglia.

Audio / video motion capture, immersive audio, 3D sound, augmented reality, modeling virtual words, typological characters of the performative spaces, 360 ° VR systems, digital and augmented choreography, digital storytelling, multimedia direction, sound synthesis and processing, management and control of musical performance, media and visual studies, scenography, architecture, perception theory and somatic studies some of the subjects covered.
